The bronze sculpture Busenpokal (Breast Chalice) combines the form of a chalice with the imprint of a breast and the portrait of a child. The interplay between vessel, body fragment, and portrait creates an object that defies simple categorization.
For centuries, the chalice has been one of the most significant vessel forms, symbolizing honor, community, and remembrance. In the Busenpokal, the breast itself becomes a vessel—not merely a source of nourishment, but a symbol of what human beings pass on to one another. The work serves as a tribute to those often invisible forms of care through which each generation shapes the next.

Die Bronzeplastik Busenpokal verbindet die Form eines Kelchs mit dem Abdruck einer Brust und
dem Porträt eines Kindes. Zwischen Gefäß, Körperfragment und Porträt entsteht ein Objekt,
das sich einer eindeutigen Zuordnung entzieht.
Der Kelch gehört seit Jahrhunderten zu den bedeutendsten Gefäßformen. Er steht für Würdi-
gung, Gemeinschaft und Erinnerung. Im Busenpokal wird die Brust selbst zum Gefäß – nicht nur
als Quelle von Nahrung, sondern als Sinnbild dessen, was Menschen einander weitergeben. Die
Arbeit versteht sich als Auszeichnung für jene oft unsichtbaren Formen der Fürsorge, durch die
jede Generation die nächste prägt.
